Okay so I recently downloaded the Portal games on Steam (75% off, too!). I use a regular HP PC, hooked up to my Coby TV (ledtv2316) on the VGA outlet. Whenever I open up the game to play, my screen goes black and a moving bar comes up that says "not supported." The PC doesn't crash or anything, I just can't see my screen. I tried changing my resolution on my PC, but it doesn't change a thing. What's going on, will I be able to play my game?

It means the resolution, refresh rate, or both, are set incorrectly for your TV to be able to display the output from your computer. When you start the game, it's likely switching to a different screen resolution and possibly different timing as well. You may be able to configure your game correctly by first starting it in Windowed mode, then selecting the proper full screen settings for your particular TV set.
