hello this may have not been the best place for this thread but im willing to move it if someone can suggest a better spot for it, but anyways, I have a 1TB seagate barracuda and im worried if video editing is going to hurt it a lot. Second, MORE IMPORTANTLY how can I create 720p videos for youtube while maintaining a small file size thats not 10GBs for 20 minutes, while still having good audio. I use fraps and if theres a better software for recording in smaller files please share!

Have been storing video files on HDDs for years, the files won't hurt the drive.
What program are using to edit? Have you tried exporting the files as .mp4 files?

I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC as well. You can easily export the videos as .mp4 files. Let me if you need help with the export settings. Does your system have one drive or two?

When you can it would be a good idea to add a second drive. Using a second drive as a scratch disk is highly recommended. The "scratch" drive would be a place to store your source files and this will reduce wear on the OS drive.

Here are the export settings I use and how to set them:
Click on a timeline (sequence)
Click on File
Click on Export Media
Look to the right under Export Settings
Beside Format click on the arrow to bring up a list and choose H.264
Under Basic Video settings I have the following selected:
Match Source* (the other options will be grayed out if you use this setting)
Under Bitrate Settings I have the following:
Bitrate Encoding: VBR, 2 Pass
Target Bitrate [Mbps]: 6
Maximum Bitrate [Mbps]: 8
Those settings could be higher and you should adjust until you have a setting you are pleased with.
The estimated file size with just over a 4 minute clips is 186 MB
Once you have a preset you are happy with you can save it as a custom preset and use it over and over again.
* You may need to adjust by removing the check to the right of Size if you video is 1080 and you want it to be 720 and then change the settings for size.

I hope this has been more helpful than confusing.
