DayZ PC Build

Solution
dayz is not that demanding by current standards... it can easily be done for $900. do you have any preferences... do you need an operating system, do you need a monitor? a quick work up says you should push your budget up a paltry $10 to $910. forget dayz, you will max out every single game made except for a small handful of games like crysis 3 where you would have to lower the antialiasing setting.

we can bring it under $900 though if you want if we get a western digital blue 1tb or another slightly cheaper power supply... i just feel more comfortable recommending xfx power supplies and western digital black hard drives for their outstanding quality, reliability, and warranty.

or if you really wanna save some money and your not concerned with maxing out other games, this will still max out dayz easy...

that system with a slightly smaller power supply and a still more than 1080p capable 270x is no slouch but does save you young mula baby.

according to this site, i looked a little for standalone dayz benchies but not many came up.... they recommend for ultra settings a intel fairly lower end intel quad core or an even lower end amd quad core plus either a gtx660 or an hd7870.

the 270x i linked is in a sense the same thing as a 7870 but the 270x is clocked much higher and the 8320 is much much faster than either of the intel or amd liested cpus, especially with a modest overclock which the hyper 212 evo will more than allow.

You will not max DayZ at 60fps with a 270x, no matter what benchmarks say. It is simply coded far too poorly.

I have a gtx660ti and an i5 and I cannot get more than a mix of "normal" and "high" without FPS dipping into the 30s. The CPU and GPU aren't even at 100% usage either. It is not hardware problem. The game is just not coded worth crap. Plain and simple. There are some registry hacks to help it, but do not expect to max it.

tiny voices may be right as he has personal experience, ive only seen it played. that said, i would fully expect given the popularity of the game that in the future, there will be coding advances via updates and patches and matured drivers that combined will help the game out very noticeably.

I would agree that IF it ever officially launches it will be much better, but it never will. The guy said he is ditching the project at the end of the summer, and so far no one else has picked it up. This will be an Alpha game that never gets finished. It will be like minecraft. It will always have constant updates and change owners but never actually be a real fully released game. Don't expect it to run well ever. Most people look for playable settings in DayZ, not max settings even with i7s and 780s it won't max 60fps all the time.
