The exact error message that pops up on the right at the task bar is: "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and WIndows does not recognize it." And the icon over the task bar looks like this:

.

Also I noticed that when I go to the Device Manager the mouse is at Other devices, named as Unknown devices, I have confirmed this with some tests.

As you can see in the image the Device Managers report an error (Also shown in the picture).
I have tried two mouses: - Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 (Not sure if Limited or Normal edition, but I think it doesn't really change any hardware at all), and - Logitech (Blue) Mouse, Model R0013. Both mouses, same issues, however, when I inserted a Cruzer Edge 8GB SanDisk USB Storage, it worked fine.

The causes of this problem are completely unknown, as it happened suddenly, in fact, I was not even touching the computer on the moment of the issue.

I have already restored to minutes before the issue, and a day before the issue, no luck.
Also tried everything possible at the Device Manager (Update drivers, reinstall all USB drivers over the Universal Serial Bus section, etc.) And many others solutions I can't really think of right now.
Also tried shutting down the laptop and taking of the battery for a few moments, and then run the laptop again.

Specs:
Laptop - Toshiba Satellite l305-5944
Windows 8

I'm open to any suggestion, I need my mouse, as the tasks I do really require a mouse if I want to do it quickly, as the MousePad is just trash for me.

Please help me, ASAP.

Sincerely, some random guy from the internet.

NOTE: I just tested the Blue Logitech R0013 Mouse on my Desktop PC(not laptop) and it worked.

It did not work, the installing device wizard did appear and install the drivers but the error kept appearing, this is desperating. Anyways I don't think it is really the drivers beause I already tried another mouse and newly a Wireless Controller, no luck. However, my USB Storage Memory Stick does work flawlessly.

With other devices working, I think this is related to software, but still there might be some other components that may be interrumpting my device, but I still think it is software.

I'm gonna say try to update your drivers/windows itself and restart your computer. After I turned some automatically update setting, can't remember which one, after awhile I had to restart the laptop to remove a malware, after the restart the mouse starter working.

do you by chance have a USB microphone plugged?
