Hi there:
I`m not sure to poste this problem here, but i don`t know where else to go.
After attempting to unlock a Phenom II 555 dual core processor into a 4 cores one, I began to have problems with my motherboard (MSI 760GM P-23).
My system began to crash randomly, and now, having changed my processor for a fx-6300,keeps crashing.
The screen freezes with a loud buzzing sound (scares the living crap out of me, by the way).
My system specs:
FX-6300
MSI 760GM P-23
2GB RAM KINGSTON DDR3 + 2G G-SKILL DDR3
1TB HD WD BLUE
ANTEC PV-450P PSU

Just run memtest86 first. The reason why you never mix and match is because the settings are always a bit different from one another. Do you think kingston ships ram to g.skill so they can be tested to work together? NoI will retry the test then.
This time at least , i know that one of the sticks is brand new, the g-skill one (I have assembled this CPU with 3 components of the old one: the kingston 2g stick, the motherboard, and the GPU (xfx 7750), everything else is brand new, so, if theres a faulty component, has to be one of those 3
I did check, and the 2 sticks have the same latency times.
I will come back with the results.
Thanks

Any other ideas, before attempting RMA on the MOBO?

Though one, possible two bad ram sticks but unlikely or bad board so something must get replaced.Ram sticks are fine, negative on the RMA. Any other ideas?
Already tried turning cool `n quiet on and off, turning spread spectrum off, but still crashing.
Today I uptdated the bios version (last resource, before buying a new board).Updated correctly, but somehow I think it will still crash.
Next time it crashes, i`m gonna replace the MOBO
I´m on a really tight budget, so the only mother I can buy right now is a Asrock N68-vs3. Do you think will suffice?

Do you have a dedicated video card at all? Sorry, I forgot it. Its a xfx 7750
Anyway, It crashed again after updating the bios, and I went berserk, so I just bought a new motherboard (the Asrock 960GM-VGS3). Already installed it. I´m now testing it.
Looks like I got it (already testing it with Crysis 3 and Rome 2: Total War). No crashes so far (and actually a slightly improvement in fps).
I will test it for a few days, before declare the issue solved.

Try RMA on the board if in warranty.Well, after a few days testing a new motherboard, I have no crashes whatsoever (even at full load), so I must pick rolli59`s solution: to change the motherboard.
I think I´m the living proof of the problem posted in this thread:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/283141-29-safe-unlock....
Conclusions:
Always check if your motherboard`s socket can handle a 125w CPU, because unlocking a 95w Phenom into a 125w quad core, could fry it.
I will ask a different question about my new motherboard in another thread.
Thanks.
