Hello all,

a noobie here looking for some insight and wisdom :)

i am going to build my first mid budget gaming pc & and was wondering if my mother board and GPU are compatible with each other. They are the following:

ASUS M5A78L-M LX3 motherboard
MSI AMD R9 270X 2G OC GPU or maybe (if i have enough cash) MSI AMD r9 280x OC GPU

Are they compatible and if they are how can u conclude that so i will have some knowledge for myself in the future ? thanks in advance to all who read and answer my question.

I would also like to link my other hardware components:

CPU: AMD FX-6300
RAM: KINGSTON HYPERX BLU 4GB 1600MHZ
HARD DRIVE: WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB BLUE 3.5" SATA
PSU: COOLER MASTER GX550W 80+BRONZE
CASE: still deciding.

Yes they are compatible, but I would recommend a new PSU the CM GX series(only the 450w version was decent) are garbage and by continuing to use it you risk damaging the system.

i cant really order online and the options in my country are limited since im in the philippines. i was wondering if this PSU would be at par with the one you suggested.
