Currently I'm looking into an SSD+HDD storage for my new computer. My question is, would I have to install my programs and OS into the SSD to make the boot time faster or would the boot time be equivalent if I stored it in the HDD? I'm afraid the OS might take up too much space and not enough for my games so there goes the question of whether boot time is affected on which drive it is stored in. On topic of OS, how much does Windows 8.1 take up? Third question is can I change the interface of Windows 8 to be similar to Windows 7? I abhor the new UI in Windows 8. I've been using it on another computer and I still haven't gotten used to it even after 5 months. Lastly, if I were to keep my SSD at max capacity, would that shorten it's lifespan? Thanks!

Solution
OS and programs on the SSD

You can change Win 8 to be almost exactly like Win 7
Download and install Classic Shell to add the start button .
Head back to the metro screen and right click and uninstall all the stupid full screen apps you dont want .
Takes about 6 minutes
