When I put my computer parts into pcpartpicker it tells me this about my RAM:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2KeKq
Kingston HyperX Grey 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Ivy Bridge CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.

I have been told (on this forum) that if I use the XMP profile on my motherboard that it will run the RAM at 1.5 v. However this doesn't seem to be the case when I look for what XMP does.

Can you tell me what it will do in my situation?

Thanks for reading.

Solution
If they're rated for 1,600 Mhz at 1.65 volts, then selecting one of the XMP profiles to get that 1,600 Mhz speed will up the voltage to 1.65 volts. If you don't select an XMP profile, then they'll run at 1333 Mhz at 1.5 volts, their default settings.
