I could go all day without it shutting down and other days it shuts down twice in one day. I use Microsoft 2000 and Windows XP and just had my hard drive replaced.

Solution
The hard drive is probably the last thing that would be causing the shutdown. If it's clean, you can try a new Windows setup as that won't cost anything to do. Then it's time to check the motherboard and power supply.
Sudden shutdowns can be caused by overheating, motherboard issue, power supply issue as the most common things. Clean out the case and all fans, you may want to clean and re-install the CPU heatsink with new heat grease, if you have an add-on video card make sure that does not get too hot and check the fans on it if any. Look over the motherboard for any issues with the capacitors, they should be all flat and shiny, if any are puffy or have stuff coming out the tops, replace the motherboard.

Thank you for the help but I don't know too much about computers and how they work but I am proficient in using them lol. I just had my technicien checking it and he check it, cleaned all the fans etc... and replaced my hard drive and its still acting up.
