Hello, everytime I turn on my computer I have to press the power button and flip the PSU switch for it to boot. I've tried the power button on the motherboard too but I still had to flip it . Everything else works fine; I can play games ( BF4, Dayz on High etc ) on max settings and it won't shutdown or anything . I don't know if the Motherboard or PSU is the problem and are they any way to fix this ?

PC Specs :

Corsair AX650W
msi Z77 MPower
Intel Core i7 3770K
Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 8GB x 2
Samsung 830 256GB SSD
Western Digital Caviar Blue
ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II TOP

Edit : This PC is more than a year old now

More about : turn flip psu switch

It's supposed to work with you leaving the power on at the wall and the power supply in the pc switched on then you just use the case power button to turn the pc on and the windows shutdown to turn the pc off. Can it work this way?

If no then there could be something wrong with the case power button switch. What case - make and model - have you got? How old is it?

In order for me to turn on the PC I need to push the power button ( Motherboard or Case ) and flip the PSU switch . Before, I can just push the power button and it would boot normally.

So if you leave the power supply switch on and push the power button then the pc won't boot?

The case is a Corsair 550D and I bought it the same day I bought the rest of the components except the Graphic Card. I do turn on the power supply and the wall plug switch on . I don't think the problem is with the case because I need to flip the switch too, even if I use the power button on the motherboard .

Edit : The PSU is always switched On it's just I have to flip the switch from On -> Off -> On then I would boot

You could have the front panel header wires in the wrong places.I would go back and check that wiring.

OK then it looks like there something screwy with your power supply switch. How old is the power supply? What make and model?

If its an old crummy one, I'd replace it. If its new I'd rma it. If it's old but good, it might be worth cleaning it out and seeing if you can spray a tiny bit of lube into the switch. With a bit of luck you might even be able to replace the switch with something from Radio Shack, Jaycar or whatever.

From what I see the settings are ok. I am stumped. I had a computer that did the same thing years ago but can't remember how I fixed it. If I remember I will let you know.
