The asus PB278Q is a pretty expensive monitor and I really wouldn't judge a company based on their panels that they themselves don't even manufacture (all panels are made in korea by either sharp, samsung, or LG). A buddy of mine has a VX279Q and everytime I go over I get pretty jealous of its sexy chassis and vibrant colors.

You could say its not VESA compatible but the sun dial stand is pretty sturdy and is at the perfect height and it has great positioning. Although I absolutely love Dell's stands because they are clean with a small footprint and offer so much customization. Their chassis' are clean but don't have that same sleek look. As for screens the VX279Q's AH-IPS panel is great for its price. I'm thinking of buying that monitor myself personally
