It's my first build ever and i was looking at the ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990X + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS. Would this be good for a gaming pc? (if it helps the processor im using is the AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.0GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor)

Yes it is very good, one of the two best and recommanded motherboard, great motherboard for the price you can't go wrong with that if you can afford it...don't forget to get an aftermarket CPU cooler for your CPU even if you don't plan on overclocking, the stock one is loud and barely good enough to cool down at stock speed...a 30$ hyper 212 will do much better job and is very quiet, here :

This is the EVO it is a little better

You could also go with the PLUS and save 5$, but honestly for 5$ more the EVO is worth it:

This thing is 158mm high, so make sure it fits in your case, if not just ask i can suggest...

The hyper 212 gets recommanded a lot for it's quality, efficiency and good price...it will allow overclocks as high as 4.4ghz easily wich is my daily speed on this FX-8320 CPU...could go as high as 4.6ghz no problem. And as i said even if you have no intention of overclocking it will server you much better than the stock cooler wich is very loud and cheap as it gets...

in fact the stock heatsink itself is not too bad but it's the fan on it that is loud and cheap and unefficient...
