My laptop sees the HDD in bios, but won't boot saying that I need to insert a bootable disk, which I think that means that it is trying to boot to DVD, when I plug in a USB, the BIOS sees it too, but keeps trying to boot to DVD. I have:
Removed and plugged in the hard drive
Reset the bios to factory settings
Removed the DVD player from the boot list.

The "Enable Launch CSM" and "Fast Boot" Options are also missing, I think I need to flash the BIOS which I can do with a DVD, but the only BIOS I could find from asus were .207 files that needed to be flashes from Windows.

This all happened when I tried installing Chrome OS, which I think possible messed the BIOS up, I booted a Gparted live CD and formatted the hard drive, but it still won't boot, it's not seen as a boot option either.

Please help!

Running an ASUS Q500a Notebook.
