I recently built a new PC and when i plug my Philips headphones in the front panel the sound is awful but when i plug them in the back they're fine. I tried the front panel with other headphones and they work fine, it's just the Philips ones. What is wrong?

It could be that the jack in the headphones on the Philips is slightly shorter than the other headphones you have tried. It could also be a lack of power and the other headphones require less power/USB powered.

You could get a cord extension but that's not assuring things. You could also have a problem with the front panel motherboard connection. Check the inside an make sure it's nice and snug.

Well, yes. That's why I didn't mention it right away. You don't have to but I would still check. Try re-seating it. That might help.
