I was able to free 16gb space on passport external harddrive but when I did the back up it has 1.05mb space

I have a few questions. I was down to 500mb free space on my 250GB Passport essential. I cut things i do not need and pasted on a Flash Drive I was able to have 2gb free space. i than saw I had a old file of music 15gb to I purchased a 32gb Flash drive and cut and copied. Now i have 17GB free space for a few days. On Easter I cut and pasted other stuff on flash drive now I have 18.2 free space. I got smart and went to my c drive and deleted all the photos and things that I got rid of in my passport I went beyond and deleted all the real player audio over 1000 went to my external harddrive and was able to do a search and find audio and adobe stuff and deleted. Checked my recycle bin which i emptied before I deleted stuff from real player and when I checked it again none of my audio was in the recycle bin. Spent over 3 hours and noticed last backup was 4/14/14 so i backed up my external hard drive. Later in the day checked my properties and I have only 1.09MB free space !!!!! WHAT HAPPENED
Also noticed all the stuff I deleted in the search sections are back up.
I manually last week deleted stuff in the folders and now some folders are empty.
When I did the search I just now realized they were items in the backup files that takes 6 separate folders to get to actual picture or document.
When I went to delete a picture i scanned that I did not need It gave me There is not enough space on the disk to perform the task. Please enlighten me

You may need disable the automatic, continuous backup function before delete those files, othrewise it will keep going backup, backup, and backup. CHeck the manual to see how, even you can uninstall those software too.

Do you know if Passport has what you mentioned. I went on line looked up manual information and mentioned you could specify the number of backup versions. I kind of scared to change anything. Read the rest of my response after your post I reposted. What external harddrive do you have and are you able to do what you suggested with it?

What I ended up doing with my full wd external drive was free up space on my Flash drive and since I had no room to delete the last back up

(I think since I saw that last back up failed I manually did it and backup-ed both passport and pc)(that might of been mistake)

I cut last back up and pasted on my Flash drive so now I have 14.5 free space. Now I am going thru my hard drive and deleting documents I scanned and do not need. school stuff and resumes that are old are being put on a flash drive and deleting duplicate photos. Than i am making sure I empty trash bin. So when I do set up my external hard drive it won't backup unnecessary stuff. I am still trying to find information on external hard-drives before I set up the new one. I picked up some computer books but they refer to online backup Backup Exec 9 ever hear of it? Thanks
