Hey there these are my pc specs
XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

WIll these specs work well to get my graphics card working at its full potentionl or do i need to uprgrade anything? Also would I be able to use a 660 in this build?

Yeah should be fine. I would recommend the purchase of a CM hyper 212 evo for the CPU, the stock coolers are terrible and loud under load, plus this cooler will allow you to increase the clock speed.

I wouldnt bother trying to mix AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, no real benefit.

Should i go nvidia or amd? would the 660 b better instead?

Do you have the 660 already?

The 270x is a bit better, but not worth upgrading if you already have a 660.
