Hi,

My friend is trying to play Battlefield 4, but it says he has driver version xxxx and he needs version xxxx (I don;t know which versions). He downloaded in and installed new drivers but his Alienware PC (he's new to pc's) keeps reinstalling the older drivers. Any ideas? What more info do you need?

The model of the graphics card?

Its probably an nvidia card, so download the drivers direct from nvidias website.

Ok, I have him on team speak now, he said there is an Intel R HD4800 integrated graphics option...

And his card is an Nvidia GTX 645, driver version number 9.18.13.1106

When he goes to Nvidia Experience it tells him 31106. (which is the same last 5 digits as above)

When he goes to device manager and chooses update driver and search automatically, it installs version 320.78

and then the system fails to see his graphics card and reverts back to integrated graphics with the warning ' you are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU '

_EDIT_

After discussing with him further it appears he may have stuck his cable in the wrong hole...... I'm getting him to try the other hole now :heink:

-EDIT 2_

LMAO!!!! He has had the HDMI cable plugged in the wrong HDMI slot on the PC for nealry a year!!! He's been using integrated graphics all this time HAHAHAHAHAHA! :D

No doesn't have to, as long as he plug the monitor into the graphics card ;)
