My wife's computer used to connect correctly to my home Wifi, but it no longer will.

The problems started when she took the computer to her school and the computer teacher tried to configure it to work with the school's Wifi. He claimed the computer couldn't be properly configured because of a virus.

The laptop came with Norton Antivirus, 30-day trial. The trial has expired. The laptop has been completely scanned with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 and no virus was found.

It should have connected automatically, but it did not. All other devices connect effortlessly.

Upon opening the Wifi connection the server is shown with good signal. Upon clicking the server it opens, but there is no check box for connect automatically. The connect button is grayed out as though it is not a valid option to choose. Clicking connect accomplishes nothing. No error message is displayed, it's just as though the connect option has been disabled somehow.

The laptop is about 2 months old. The Windows 8 OS is original, not pirated, OEM installed, Spanish language version (Peru).
