Random lag spikes and wierd sound

when im playing a game randomly my computer freezes and makes a wierd sound like static ish sound.

specs:

Power supply: Cooler Master G650M, 650W Modular PSU

Processor: Intel Core i5-4670K Processor

Motherboard: MSI Z87-G43, Socket-1150

RAM: Corsair XMS3 1600MHz 8GB Vengeance CL9

Video card: MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB PhysX CUDA

Harddrive: Crucial M500 SSD 2.5" 120GB SATA 3.0

This can be caused by few things software or hardware based.

make sure you have sufficient space on your hard drive.

do a virus scan from a non free version of an antivirus software.

check if all your fans are ok and that the pc isn't over heating.
