Hey guys,

So I just built a new gaming PC for the summer, I got a few good deals and built it about a week ago, brought it with me to school for now and plan to use it at home when I'm out for this summer. I am having a problem and its not something I've ever had happen to me before. my wireless connection on the school network is great I have 4 to 5 bars at all times, but for some reason my Mbps goes up and down and up and down and sometimes stays low. 6.0 was my lowest. For internet browsing its not really a problem but for trying to play Diablo 3 Its getting me killed. I opened up the network connection status window and hit the diagnose button I get this message that says "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource(DNS server) is not responding." Like I said I am at school so I have no control over routers or anything like that. I saw a few fixes online but its wanting me to change stuff but Im not looking to get my wifi banned over here, I've emailed IRT and even went to talk to them....they can't help me out much.

Well wireless isn't ever going to be great for gaming. There is just far to much lag in the wireless process to have super fast ping times. One thing you can do is test your pings to the server you are playing on or do a trace route.

For I'd say about 2 weeks. My brother who is at my parents house says hes been fine and when we play together it seems like I lag and he doesn't. I can kind of tell its bogged down, even just a google search sometimes is rough. Im wondering if its just a volume thing. My dorm houses about 800 people.
