I'm planning on buying 3 ASUS VN248H-P monitors, which have no DisplayPort . Now, I know my Sapphire card maxes out at 2 monitors if I don't use a DP connection, however, I'm wondering if using a DP converter (DP to HDMI, or DP to DVI) on my third screen will be enough to get all of them up and running.

I need to know this because I don't want to end up buying 3 different monitors and not being able to use one of them on my PC. Thanks in advance!

you need an active converter, quite pricey, might be better looking for DP monitors.

It would be better if you are going to buy new monitors anyway to find 3 monitors that have DisplayPort Connectors.

You can make it work this way:

For the first two monitors, use any combination of these cables + plugs:
HDMI to HDMI
DVI to HDMI
Displayport to HDMI (passive)

For the third monitor, you MUST have an active Displayport to HDMI adapter, like 13thmonkey said. However, they are actually pretty inexpensive now:

Here's what to get:
Get a Displayport to HDMI active adapter... then connect an HDMI cable to it to make it longer (since the adapter is so short).

1x: mini Displayport to HDMI Active Adapter

1x HDMI cable to make it longer (since the adapter is so short)

Or, if your video card has a full size Displayport slot, then get these two cables instead and connect them together:

mini Displayport to Displayport (since the adapter is so short)

June 05 edit: sorry, even my edit was wrong. Here's the very late correction:
I'm so, sorry, one of the solutions I gave is incorrect. If you ordered one of them, please read this.

The mini Displayport setup is correct, so if you got that, don't worry. However, the second, regular Displayport setup, was wrong.

Hopefully, you didn't buy them or can return it. Here's what you need if the video card has a regular Displayport port.

1. Displayport to HDMI Active Adapter

2. Any HDMI cable to make it longer
