Hello Guys

Last week my 6 year old pc took his final breadth & I decided this time I will assemble my own pc but since I will be doing it for first time.

I need your opinions.

These are my part list and I will add my queries with them.

I would be using my system for photoshop, unity 3D coding and little gaming.

Asus Maximus VI Formula Motherboard

Is there any other board I should reconsider over this one in terms of quality and performance?Asrock or Gigabytes or MSI

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor or AMD Fx 9590.
I will not over clock until it deem necessary or req for heavy gaming.

Well by gaming I mean wow, heroes of newerth and other mmorpgs.

Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Should I be worried, what if it leaked?

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Nothing for this one

Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case
Anything better in same.price?

Seasonic X 760

Would it be enough for SLI? 2 to 3 GB 2x Cards

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) vs Windows 8(64-bit)

This question is bugging me quiet alot.I have tried none and Am windows XP fan and my heart still feel sad that I won't be using it again.

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10
vs
Kingston HyperX DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) PC RAM (KHX1600C10D3B1/8G )

Well just a.simple question which one should I buy and why.

Asus DRW-24D3ST DVD Writer
None for this.

MSI NVIDIA N760 TF 2GD5/OC 2 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

Does a graphic card with low clock speed but more memory Size is good or vice versa.

Am going to assemble my first pc & am little afraid as well.

What exactly I have to do when after fitting everything in my cabinet?I have no knowledge of BIOS and neither I have any idea what to do.

Please tell me what to do after fitting everything in cabinet.

I know all these questions would have been asked.countless time before but my pc is dead and there is no cafe or friend that live near by.Its too much hassle to make a thread or browse through threads on 4 inch mobile so please forgive me for asking same questions.

Thank yoy for reading this wall of text.

You can use different brands, but your 6 yr old pc will be using ddr2 ram and not the ddr3 ram of modern motherboards. The slot is physically different so there is no way to make them work.

It is also better to buy a combo kit instead of individual sticks as the combo pack will be cut from the same silicon and it will just work together slightly better.
Even doing 3d coding I am not sure if you will use more then 16gb of ram.
I would either buy a pair of 8GB now or a pair of 16GB now
Wow that is alot of quesitons in one post.

Mobo is completley fine, ASUS is a great mobo brand

Go i7 over AMD for any mathematical processoes like 3D modeling.
And the i7 is better then that AMD cpu

For mild overclocking just go with a Hyper 212 evo air cooler over liquid

Case is user preferance, you will get as many different answers as asking which car brand is better, or which sports team is the best.

750w will not be enough PSU for 2-3 760 cards. You can use thermaltakes PSU calculator page to get a good idea of power.
Seasonic is a good brand choice though

If you really liked XP then 7 will be much easier of a transition for you, 8 has its pros and cons but for advanced functions it is more of a pain and microsoft tries to decide for you.

Ram, you want to go wtih 2x4GB sticks over 1x8GB stick. There is a 10-15% performance difference, the ram/mobo is designed to work in pairs. Go with the corsair or gskil ripjaws/sniper ram is also very good.

As far as build questions there is some threads in the forums that go through the steps and if you have any specific issues/questions someone here will be more then willing to help.

In regards to BIOS you will just need to make sure the hard drive you want is selected as the first boot device. If you start to overclock more then you will need to get more into the bios

One suggestion on your build is to get a SSD drive for your boot drive. You will see a significant increase in performance of boot time, opening programs, files, etc. SSDs use flash memory chips and thus have almost no latency/seek time vs hard drives that have to spin the drive for every single file.
Samsung 840 Evo is the current best bang for buck in both performance and reliability. Every once in a while the PRO serries are on sale for a really good price which are a mild step up to the EVO.

If you get an SSD you will want to set SATA mode to AHCI in the BIOS for the sata port that the SSD is pluged into. FYI you can not set just one single port to AHCI, it will be a series of ports which is fine and what we all do.

Yea sorry for too much questions but since am using my phone therefore it is lot easier to keep track of single thread

I choosed single 8 gb ram becauae max ram is 32 gb therefore with time i will add remaining 3 ram.

As you say ram are supposed to work in pair. Say i buy corsair ram,and i have 2x 2 gb kingston ram from my old pc.Will using ram of different brand.work at same time and will there be adverse effect on mobo?
