Ok not like brush my teeth or tuck me in, but i recently got a 51 inch plasma TV with a mobile upgrade. For TV & movies its great but it sucks at being a PC monitor (native resolution 1024 x 768, all kids of ugly) i was using a 1080p 42 inch lg lcd/led as the primary display but his has usurped it. I am now looking to put the ol 42 inch in a separate room with the pc for gaming and surfing and such. That will put it about 15 feet away from the plasma, through walls and such. How can i get the plasma to have some kind of connectivity to said distant PC for movie streaming, 4OD etc. I use a logitech wireless mouse with the teeny dongle. Of course i'll need 1 x very long hdmi cable to connect the plasma tv but how do i extend the signal of the keyboard so the computer many metres away will still pick it up? Is there like a wireless to wireless transmitter box?

For the USB you are well past the range of needing an active amplified solution, and for the HDMI after you figure on running either up through the wall or tucking it down by your baseboards you are going to be getting close to the 35ft limit of hdmi without a signal amplifier.

Are you just wanting to living room hookup for media streaming, or are you wanting to physically be able to access all the resources of your computer from the living room or even play a game? If you just want to see movie/music/picture content then I would suggest to use plex or xbmc and have a stream box at your TV.

Here is a USB extender using CAT5

HDMI CAT5...
USB extensio cables can go up to 15 feet (I'd done longer but sometime i have issues some times i dont) They also have adapters that convert the USB into a CAT5 cable and then back to USB. Those can go up to 100 Feet. I've used a few of those with clients and they work beautifuly. Most blueTooth keyboard will work up to about 15 feet or so. If anything you can just get a USB extention cable and plug the Dongle into that and then move it as close to you as possible.

At least two, the plasma sits near the corner so the signal may hit more. One is definately a structural wall. I suppose i could get a y usb cable and run two dongles, i assume that can be done? Failing that, like drtweak says extend the dongle via cable to a sweet spot between both displays. I use the logitech K400 media keyboard for most web surfing in the lounge.

You can use a amplified hdmi cable, but routing will be easier with cat5 unless you are going to do it the lazy way and just drill a big hole between each wall.
Also the vendor unfortunatly goes straight from 25ft to 75ft

In a perfect world yes, i would like to operate my pc from the other room and do everything used to do when it was connected to the LCD in the lounge. The choice to play games would be nice, but as i use an xbox controller for the majority of those that's another level of complication, so i won't go there.

Anyway thank you all for your responses, you've definitely given me a lot of information to digest and price up.

Cheers!
