Hello,

I am looking for opinions and help regarding upgrading my system. I use it mostly for work in Adobe, and for playing video games. I am on a limited budget, but I still haven't decided how big it will be, though I doubt I can pay over 500 euros for an upgrade.

Here is my current configuration:
OS: Windows 7 x64 SP1
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Conputer INC. P5B SE (LGA775)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @2.13Ghz - 65nm Conroe, 2 cores, 2 threads
RAM: 4096 MB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz (6-6-6-18)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 1024 MB DDR5 (detected memory type as 2)
Monitor: 1920x1080, I sometimes plug in a 1024x1028 one too, but not for gaming.
HDD: Hitachi SATA 488 GB, 7200 RPM

I won't be upgrading my monitor, and HDD isn't an issue now, although I would grab a SSD ~50-100 GB one for the OS, and a 1 TB HDD, 5600-7200 RPM for storage. Nothing other then Hitachi or WD

I was thinking of buying a i7 4770 or i7 4770k (or something similar, but not too expensive), a good motherboard, and at least 8 GB or RAM. If I have enough money left over I would buy the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2 GB DDR5 also. I am not a ATI fan.

I have a cheap older Cooler Master casing (Cooler Master Elite 332), with two 120 mm fans, and a ~80 mm CPU fan.

Here is my DxDiag if anyone is interested:

Please share your opinions and any suggestions on what should I do, and if the components are good or if I can get something better for the similar price.

PS: Off topic, but what are your opinions on keeping the casing open. Mine is closed.

Thank you,
Shadowrend

best bet is your idea for an i7/mb/ram. that will give you a solid foundation. you might want to grab 16gb of ram, considering you're using adobe programs.
