I ran Spinrite from the boot cd on my 3 year-old Vaio on both its new ssd and its original hard drive. On both occasions it hangs at Initdisk. The only thing you can change in the BIOS is CPU C3/C6 stuff, Intel Virtualization, boot sequence and passwords. No SATA/IDE stuff. There's no usb in the machine when I run Spinrite, either. So I reckon I have wasted a load of money on something that, in its present state, just can't work on my laptop.
Perhaps I should not have listened to the gushing testimonials, but if any one has any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong, I'd be most grateful.
