I got this computer from a friend who was in a tight spot he said it was a beast but I dont know much about computers, here are the specs:

Video Card AMD Radeon HD 5450
Processor AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six Core Processor 3.30 Ghz
Memory 16 GB DDR3

The computer has a Gigabyte Motherboard and 2 hard drives one of 100 GB that he said was solid state (dont know what that means) and the other is 1 TB.

I tried installing Rome total war 2 but the games is giving me a warnig of runing low on graphics memory while I was running the benchmark to use the best video setting and the benchmark was running at 2 or 3 FPS.

I know there is a problem with the computer but want to know if the whole computer is garbage or just the video card, thanks for any help.

certainly not a beast. the processor is pretty weak (for gaming), as is the graphics card (not meant for gaming).

if you want to upgrade something in order to game, replacing the graphics card would be your best bet. (just check the power supply before doing so)

sounds like the solid state hard drive might be the best thing there.

Thanks for the reply, any suggestions for a new graphic card?

What's your budget?

A really popular card right now is the GTX 750 Ti. It performs extremely well in lower end PC's because it does not require additional power from the PSU, in addition to being very effective. This card is around ~$150 and would allow you to play most games on medium-high settings.

If your budget is higher then that, there are lots of options.
