Does anyone know how durable thumb drives are when used in a heavy read/write environment, such as video/sound editing, game play etc. I currently use several USB3
thumb drives with a SSD laptop. To save disk space, I have installed programs and games
directly to them. Their performance is at least equal to a hard drive in a PC, but will they last? I could use an external SSD but the AnkerĀ® AH400 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub makes it so easy to add or swap drives that I don't really want to.

They will die sooner than an SSD or HDD.

How soon? Unknown.

Thanks, I assumed a shorter life, no one can accurately predict how long any drive will last,
I just don't want it to go like a 110 volt light plugged into a 220 volt circuit.
