Can certain power supplies give your gpu coil whine even if your gpu didn't have any with a previous psu?
Example: evga 750w with 780ti had no CW, Thermaltake 1050w with 780ti gets miner CW

Solution

Thermaltake fans harmonize with other components. The PSU fan is most likely singing harmony with your GPU fan, producing a whining noise.

It's possible that a lower quality PSU can give certain components coil whine. It's down to how much ripple the PSU is producing overall. Get a high quality one made my a high quality OEM (Seasonic, Super Flower, Delta, etc.), your components will live longer and are technically quieter, in terms of coil whine. It does save you some cash in the long term when you do your research deeply.

The PSU is the most important part.

Buy a PSU made by a reputable brand, not the ones labelled cheaply and claim to have the wattage. Please refer to this tier list for a better, more reliable unit -

Seasonic, Corsair, XFX are all great brands.
