I got a new display, after a long time, I had 1366x768 monitor 60hz, but recently upgraded to a 1920x1080 monitor with 120hz.

I have been playing a few games with the same 60 fps framerate, but it seems smoother on the newer one. Is it because my monitor was bad or is it just a jump. It is also the same frame rate at 60 fps, not higher nor lower.

My specs
I5 4670k
2x HD 7970 power color
MSI z87 g41

yes, a 120hz display at 1080p will look better than a 60hz display at 1366x768 even if the input framerate is identical. Nothing to complain about!

It's also possible that the monitor was so old that it may have had very bad response times... resulting in smearing during movement. Also, yes, the 120Hz helps a bit too.

BTW, is your monitor correctly running at 120Hz (apart from that one game that is capped at 60FPS)? Just want to make sure that it's not accidentally running at 60Hz due to some cable issue or setting or something, as that would be a shame to lose that feature after getting a monitor specifically with 120Hz. :)
