2 changes: I changed the case, because I prefer the 400R over the Fractal. It can support more fans, and has a bit bigger GPU support. 2. I changed out the Psu to an XFX because alot of people consider corsair more basic, and this is a modular power supply and the same wattage. 1 more thing, unless hes going to do alot of editing, I'd suggest an i5.

Seriously - why would you waste all that money in storage and case fans, and then have a $80 power supply? You're building a $1500 rig, that would be like buying a Nissan GTR and putting 3 cents worth of spark plugs in it. Honestly you don't come out ahead using a 500GB SSD as your only storage device. The cost per GB is not justifiable and SSDs do slow down when you hit a certain capacity. 16GB of RAM is not necessary for gaming either.

This is what you should do for that budget:

Why put all that money in storage and case fans when you could put that into a GTX 780TI? For gaming that's where it counts, everything else comes second.

Black/Red color scheme- lighted, 3 top fans, 1 pivot fan for gpu, keep the 2 stock 120mm for yourself. 3 top fans will all work on 1 header (low draw), use only top exhaust low rpm, 200m intake is plenty.

edit: add $100:- change 770 4Gb to 780 3Gb, Antec 620HCGm to Antec 750HCGm. That's quite a bit more performance, still under budget, just doesn't meet the 4Gb OP wants.

That's alot of unnecessary costs. An i5 is fine for gaming, and that motherboard is not needed, I have a good one for 125 bucks. Also, the 400R case by Corsair is fantastic. Edit- I take it back about motherboard, that was on AMD builds :p

Agreed on this. You need to put the money in the right place.

Thanks all for advice he just isn't willing to let go of the i7 my initial suggestion was the 4670k i will try to convince him again as far as getting 780ti i think that is just a little overboard he doesn't need $700 video card from my own experience its better to just buy 300-400 one every 2 years than to hold on to really expensive one for long time it just isn't going to be worth much in 2 years new one for 300-400 will match it or beat it. Cant 770 on single 1080 p run any game on max ? My 670 still does. As far as the os it is not in the 1600 budged he has win 7 license already as far as the ssd my initial thoughts were 840 evo but the 250gb one and 1tb drive but he said to ditch it for the 512 ssd so will try to change his mind and get one of those better power supplies as suggested.

better gpu > 500gb ssd?

Of course. An SSD just makes load times faster, it doesn't affect gaming fps.

+1 this is the right idea. A 780ti is a must for this priced build.

Looks great, might want to go with cheaper fans, but that is your choice.

Yea as far as fans i usually stick to noctuas they tend to last the longest and 6yr warranty so i believe its the best choice over 3 fans only paying like $15 more over other brands
