I feel like my problem is related to my motherboard more than anything, but I am not positive so I'm posting here.

About two weeks ago, I cleaned out my computer because it was getting warmer outside. I cleaned it as I always do, I undo the sides of my case and use compressed air, nothing unusual happened and I'm not new to the process. After cleaning it, I have been getting random resets & shutdowns.

My computer specs

OS: Windows 7
Motherboard: AsRock 970 extreme3
CPU: AMD Phenom II 965
GPU: GeForce GTX 550 ti
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8 GB

I built this budget PC early 2013, ever since then, the motherboard has seemed to be junk. I should have sent it back but didn't get around to it. Since the start, to get the thing to boot, I always had to mess with it, turn off the PSU, unplug everything, plug in the monitor and then the power cable last. This was the only way to ever get it to boot, but I didn't disconnect things often and was stuck with it so I just dealt with it. Now, after cleaning my PC out like I've done so many times before, my computer will randomly reset and boot into windows, or it will crash as if it's going to reset, give me 5 beeps (MOBO speaker) and fail to boot. It only crashes when I'm gaming and never while idle or general use. It seems the more stress I put on it, the more likely it is to crash (cranking up settings in games) the games I play are not very demanding. While gaming, my MOBO never gets above 40c, my CPU never above 45c and my GPU stays around 60c.

I've restored my BIOS to default settings, upgraded it, reseated my CPU & Heatsink, reseated my memory & tried moving the GPU around different pci slots. I contacted asrock support, the error for 5 beeps is "Without VGA card" which would make me assume there is a problem with my GPU at first, but given my history with this MOBO and just getting my PC to boot/display I question it. I've also used this GPU in another computer without trouble.

I'm not sure what the problem is or if it can be fixed by changing something. If hardware must be replaced, I'm hoping it's the MOBO because it's been trouble from the start

450W PSU (I believe the brand is BFG tech)

I've actually had this longer than the other parts, it's always worked fine. I have nothing extra in my PC, no optical disc drive and a single HDD.

Also, I just ran a memory test and it came back with no errors.

yes, it sounds like your psu, may be failing, slowly. its like when you put on load, either the motherboard cant handle the amount of power thats surging through it, or your psu just simply cant keep up. if you can though id rma the board, it is a high possiblity that you may have shocked your system with your staticated fingers whilst cleaning.
