Apologies for this question, i haven't kept up with hardware for a year so i thought i'd ask TH.

I have 5 monitors and am looking to find a respectably affordable setup to run them off dedicated video cards.

I primarily game on the primary and do web browsing, etc, on the others.

I WAS using 1 graphics card and USB UV+ extenders but i want a dedicated option.

It also seems i'm in a pickle, I have a Core i7-870 (socket LGA 1156) and a motherboard to accommodate (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) which is PCI-E 2.0

All the new cards are PCI-E 3.0...

So do i need to buy a whole new proc/mobo/card?

or is there anything i can do that wont cost me a fortune?

PCIe is backwards compatible. You can run a PCIe3.0 card in a PCIe2.0 board, no problem.
