The 840 Pro uses MLC nand flash which is more expensive to produce and also MLC nand would last longer than TLC in 840 EVO drive which is cheaper to produce, 512GB 840 Pro would last longer than 840EVO but you limited with 512GB space on 840Pro
Generally they have pretty similar performance but 840 Pro is high-end drive while 840 EVO is more consumer grade drive :)
