Hey there, i bought a macbook air that apparently needed a HDD wipe and then a fresh os added on. the HDD is brand new. The USB has OS X Mavericks, its 5.517 GB. I used Transmac to prep the USB and then add the OS onto it. In transcmac is claims the usb is a GenericFlash USB and it has a question mark over the icon. I think its something to do with me either not putting the OS on correctly or the OS image being damaged. I was wondering if anything knew any method to put an OS onto the memory stick to make it bootable from mac.

(Or tell me how I've messed up.)

I don't own any other mac apart from this one which cant has the mac folder with a question mark, or a Stop sign.

Thanks

When was your Macbook Air made? It may be easier to just do an Internet install if it is new enough.
