No bootable device -- insert boot disk?? and I don't know much about computers so I don't know what a BIOS is? explain what to pleaseee because I need to do an assignment

Solution
Your enter the BIOS by pressing DEL, F2, F10 or whatever the key combination is for your motherboard or PC, shown on screen within the first few seconds.

Then navigate until you see if a hard disk is present, if not, a loose data or power cable, dead hard disk.

If you can see a hard disk, it could have just lost its boot sector, so if you have a Windows DVD or a system recovery partition, boot off that, choose the repair boot option.
