Advice on FPS issues?

Hey, so I've got a decent build that I'm happy with except it's performance in terms of gaming.

GPU - Sapphire - x, R9 270X
CPU - i3 - 4130 3.4ghz
2x 8gb DDR3 RAM
windows 7 64bit

I've noticed that in games like battlefield 4, on mostly Ultra ( post processing is on medium, Antialiasing post and deffered off), I'll get frames of about 20-50, average 40 and rarely ever above 55, it constantly drops from the 50's to 20's instantly and causes occasional freezing. I'm running the newest drivers (14.4 from AMD) and using Direct x11 ( I can't run mantle, game freezes)

with frames of 20- 55 with constant fluctuations, it gets unplayable sometimes, I've dried lowering my settings to medium with little success which is surprising, what could be the issue? (I've seen r9 270x's with similar system specs push battlefield to over 100frames on ultra.

Thanks.

those FPS are what I would call normal, that is what to expect with an i3 and R9 270X. Best thing you could do is get an i5 4570, that'll increase you performance on a big scale, as BF4 runs best with 4 intel cores, not 2.
