sata to data power cable

I need to convert one sata power cable to a data power cable for a fan in the case, Is it possible to just cut,strip the two wires I need and connect them manually like we do in standard home power cables ?

SATA data cables don't have any kind of power, and vice versa.

Fans usually use either molex or special 3/4 pin fan connectors (that plug into your mobo).

Yeah, I know there's a SATA power cable. My point is that you then said 'to a data power cable'.

Do you mean a 4-pin Molex? Most PSUs provide lots of those.

Yes, but be careful wrapping them up so they don't short out on anything. You'll also void the warranty.

FYI, doing that kind of thing with mains is a really dumb idea.
