Dark Souls 2 is awesome. Dark Souls 2 is the way better improved version (taking all the good things and insane graphics) of Dark Souls 1 which is a masterpiece, even if it was designed for consoles, the port to PC was not that bad. Now in Dark Souls 2, the port to PC is awesome. You can customize controls any way you like (which was almost impossible in DS1 without mods) and experience it fully even if you play it on PC or consoles.

Now for the game itself, it's genius. It's the kind of game that kills you over and over again and makes you cry tears of joy when you defeat a boss without abusing the internet for tactics and gives you an enormous sense of accomplishment. It's the most hardcore type of RPG out there. Yes, it requires TONS of patience to fully enjoy it and progress through it. The combat system is the most original one I have ever experienced in any RPG and it makes you control every action out there, and failure to properly fight in almost any battle will swiftly lead to your death. It's unforgiving.

And the best part about it, you can play any style you want. It's doable. In DS1, people did speed runs beating the game at lvl 1 and it was streamed over twitch, but to be able to do that you required to have basically no life. Or a very good memory. But that's just secondary stuff that came into existence due to the versatility that the game provided. I myself, took my time and reached lvl 200 before beating the final boss. Oh, and guess what. There's the New Game + feature allowing you to start the game again, with the character that you finished it with, while difficulty is scaled accordingly.

I would say everything was improved from dark souls 1 to dark souls 2, the negative change is the map layout. The new layout is not my favorite.
