Go with the intel build but drop the sound card as the onboard audio is still high quality. Also get 8GB ram, as 16gb is overkill. Finally get a better PSU and with the savings from the other components you should be able to fit in a GTX 780ti.

The Intel -

The 9590 uses a lot of power and puts out a lot of heat.

The 780ti is a better performing gpu than the 290x for most games

And yeah - for gaming you don't need 16GB ram, 8 is fine.

i've redone a few things and would even be able to get 2xgtx 770 for around £70 cheaper than the one gtx 780 ti and the subtotal is at £1,491

Get an i5 for gaming/streaming, not an i7. 8gb is fine as previously stated. Just get a single 780ti. It will have less hassle and be much easier than an SLI setup. And use less power and make less heat.

Also, unless you are doing professional audio recording, drop the sound card. The motherboard sound card is VERY good.

The funny thing is, the only reason ever to buy a sound card is for extra i/o. Sound quality will be exactly the same.

A 650w PSU is plenty for a single gtx780ti.

No that is 100% not true. 2 770s can EASILY run overclocked on 750w.

I've got 2 x 670's (@170W tdp) on 750W. I wouldn't put 2 x 680's (@195W) let alone 2 x 770's (230W) on a 750W psu.

A 770 doesn't use anything close to 230w. It pulls 197w at 100% load bitmining.

750w is more than enough for 770 SLI. I promise you.
