Can you help me figure out compatible parts for my future computer build? I have purchased a temjin tj04-e case. I am considering getting a rampage IV black edition mobo socket 2011. I am also considering getting a high end graphics card gtx 780 or similar. I am concered if I get a notcua based air cooler it will block the 1st pci e graphics card slot.

I am also considering H100i cooler and or waiting until haswell-e arrives with different motherboards. Should I wait? Should I get the rampage black and if so what cooler and graphics card to go along with my TJ04-e?

Thanks

Around $4,000.00, but that is not a hard number. I do not want to waste money , but I am willing to go over that price point with your suggestions if there is something I really like/fits in the build.

So far the Temjin TJ04-E cost about $140.00 with my amazon discount. SO that leavse about ~$3,860.00 for you to play with. I'd recommend cutting corners on things that can be upgraded later like additional ram or hard drives.

Just think entry level enthusiast build.

Thanks again for your resonses.

Also some background info I am comming from a Dell Dimension 8400 3.4ghz lg775. I really streatched that computer for the past 10 years. I have one 140 or 120 mm fan I can recycle and several hard drives including a 4tb deskstar 7200rpm internal and a 3tb wd my book external usb 3.0 drive. I have a pair of 80gb wd raptors 10000rpm and another 250gb hard drive to also be added into this new build. No ssds or raid cards, no sound cards. I do have a ps2 keyboard and a ps2 mouse. I have a DVD r/w so I don't need that to install software. I have a Dell 20 somthing inch flat panel with a sound bar that gets 1280x1024 at 75hz. my graphics card is too old to scavange into this build.

I would wait in my opinion. Haswell refresh should have the thermal issues fixes if I am not mistaken. You can get either the Noctua U12s or the U14s. They were built with ram slots in mind. I am currently using the U12s and it performs very well and still leaves me that first slot.

Ok great, thanks for picking that out. I will not be going with 2 graphics cards at this time, but I will leave that open for a future upgrade. I am going to stick with the temjin tj04-e as I already bought it and I really do like the case. I already have a mouse and a keyboard and I believe the ROG extreme black edidtion comes with a fan controller so I don't need that. I also have an optical drive. So if you remove all those items you have more money to play with. That monitor is nothing special.

At this time I think I might just wait for x99 / haswell-e. I've waited 10 years, I can wait a bit longer. Not sur if it will be June or september release for the hawell-e platform, but we will see.

I do have my case ready silverstone temjin tj04-e . yes it was made in 2012, but it has a ton of storage for a mid tower and is all metal. I like it.

Hopefully haswell-e will be here soon

Thanks for your tip but what you don't understand is that I already purchased the evga overclocked gtx 780 6gb. So NO I will not be buying a 780 ti. but when the prices really drop I may consider an sli set up with a 2nd evga gtx 780 6gb.
