Looks very similar to the one I originally intended to link, which was a MOTOROLA SB6141 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0

Might just go for the SB6121 but would you happen to know if there are any major differences between them?

Yeah, the 6141 isn't quite as compatible with Comcast's infrastructure. If you google around you'll find a list of compatible devices and they rate them from 1 to 3 stars. The 6121 rates as 3 stars (so perfectly compatible) while the 6141 ranks as 1 star. Here is the link: http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/

Since I don't think Comcast offers anything over 150 Mbps at the moment (I could be wrong, but unless you get FIber to your Home and that uses a different type of equipment) I'd say for the money go with a 6121. They are easy to find and the Surfboard series has always been good. I have one and get over the advertised speeds (I pay for 25 down, 5 up but get 32 down and 7 up). So there you go! As much help as I can give you.

Yep the highest speed Comcast offers is 105 Mbps. Thanks for the reassurance^ I'll be going with the SB6121.

The major difference between the 6121 and the 6141 is the number of carriers it CAN potentially bond. the 6121 supports 4, and the 6141 supports 8 on the downstream I think both only support 4 on the upstream. but this is limited by the plant your in and what the cmts allows it to bond to as well. For instance where I work when the 8x4 modems first were coming out we only had 4 carriers available so you'd only get 4. Is there an advantage to using 8 over 4 channels, only for the power boost speed and balancing out the load [which if 4 won't do it you most likley have a cable damaged and it won't actually help to have 8.

The incompatibility with comcast's netowrk I reserve for visual verification I hear people say we have problems with modems all the time, then I look and the people just have shitty cable in their house because they did not want to pay to get it updated, etc.. It's funny they will buy $500 in modems and routers but refuse to get the 4 lines replaced for $100. or my favorite its the landlord's problem: ok, but your modem is on it and he's not going to care.

I have a 6141 on Comcast network and have had no trouble. It only cost a little more than the 6121 and it is a bit more future proof as the cable companies upgrade their speed offerings. The 6121 is a supported modem for Comcast and they will do the flash upgrades for it.
