Hey guys, just wanna know that will Call of duty 2 be able to run full screen on my monitor and PC ? Its an old game and my Specs are new , thats why I am a bit curious and wanna know before I buy.
My Specs :
Cpu= i7 4771
Ram = 16 GB DDR 3 Corsair Vengeance
Gpu= Asus GTX 760
Monitor = 27 Inch Samsung 1920x1080 resolution ( max ) .
OS= Win 8.1 Pro x64

So, will it run on my PC and will it run on full screen on my monitor ?

Solution
Absolutely, you can even try a DEMO (use Singleplayer): http://www.fileplanet.com/157205/150000/fileinfo/Call-of-Duty-2-Demo-%5BSingle-Player%5D

It works, I just tried it, and had it at 2560x1440, 4xAA, and everything else max and never dropped below 60FPS (i7-3770K and GTX680; W8.1 64-bit).

If you have an EAX audio card you'll need to use Alchemy and the game folder or else you'll be using Miles audio.

STEAM has COD1, COD2 and another game (COD2 expansion?) for $30 in the "War Chest" I believe. However, COD1 runs at 4x3 ratio unless you alter the config.ini file which is easy to do (however the COMPASS gets all stretched).

COD2 works fine and scales properly with no editing.

Update:
At 1920x1080 and Max settings I didn't drop below 180FPS in the first five minutes. I disabled SYNC (VSync) just to see but I'll turn that back on and lock to 60FPS as I hate screen tearing.

If you had a 120Hz monitor you could run at 120FPS, otherwise just turn everything in graphics to max settings.

You could probably force better anti-aliasing (NCP-> Manage 3D Settings-> add game->...) as well if needed though it looked fine to me at 4xAA.

I wanted to buy COD1 also , but those graphics will not be looking good to my eyes after seeing such advanced graphics from games now-a-days. But COD 2 has decent graphics and I am getting it to enjoy MP :)

Cheers buddy :D

I would like to know that what is V-sync and what is its advantage ?

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/adaptive-vsync

I use Adaptive VSync mainly.

VSYNC:
- no screen tearing
- game feels slightly more sluggish (delay in synching monitor to graphics card)

NO VSYNC:
- screen tearing
- less lag

Adaptive VSYNC:
VSYNC On if above target (i.e. 60FPS/60Hz) but automatically off below.
- unfortunately, cut scenes below the target (i.e. 30FPS) get screen tearing. Sigh.

*Do not use VSYNC if you're going to fall below the target. That's the point of using Adaptive VSync. I don't know how well the video explains it but the main drawback is you get a quick stutter which is really obvious when panning horizontally. For example, in Assassin's Creed I had VSYNC ON and when I dropped below 60FPS it was stuttering, but when I could maintain 60FPS it was smooth again.

**G-SYNC:
This requires a new monitor, but when paired with a modern graphics card it solves these issues mostly. Will be $400USD and more so I'd wait a while. Click the PRODUCT DEMO VIDEO.
