Hello
I have a Gainward GTS 8800 and whenever i plug in the 6 pin Pci connector to the card that PSU immediately shuts down. I looked at the board and i saw that there was a missing electrical component from the pcb, could it be the problem?.Thanks in advance for the help.http://postimg.org/image/cbzlmzmz3/

I would suggest you get a new GPU. You have reached the end of the life for that product. Nothing lasts forever but it has lasted a long time.

I have a core i5-2500K
Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV
6 gb of ram
and a 500w psu
I had a Gigabyte GeForce GT 630 2GB that suddenly stopped working and my friend had this Gainward GTS 8800 so I bought it from him. It worked for a week or so then it started becoming hot when the PC was shutdown so i took it out and when i tried to reinstall it shuts down my PSU.

I assume that you did not have a GPU before...

First try it with a different GPU.. if it works, the GPU is faulty.. else the PSU needs an upgrade..

RMA or Warranty.. that's the only way.. you cannot fix it at home..

It is a chinese company named "Active". I don't think its the PSU all the other components still work perfectly.
