Lets start with specs :
2gb ram
Pentium d 820
gt 620
Motherboard (not branded) : local Necola g31 socket 775

I purchased a core 2 duo e8400 and swapped it in my motherboard it's not working :'(
The pc just doesnt boots up at all the fans just keep rotating no beeps no lights no display nothign happens just the fans keep rotating.

I purchased the prcoessor from hard earned money please help me.

So i noticed the graphics card fan isnt spinning so I uninstalled the drivers and plugged vga into motherboard vga port.. also rested cmos/bios .. also swapped rams.. nothing is working!

and then I swapped it with my old Pentium D 820 its working perfectly fine..

I tried it 10 times but it isnt working! :( but my old cpu is working perfectly fine.. what to do? :'(

I installed cpuz and checked my motherboard it says g31/pl35/g33 chipset

what is the problem??

If i'm not totally off road here, then the Necola motherboards are branded under Biostar.

If your board has g31 chipset then it should be compatible the E8400 Core 2 Duo cpu.
But as Logainofhades here mentioned, you might need to install your old cpu and do a BIOS update to make it support the new cpu.

List of all compatible cpu's on the g31 chipset:

Yes! It's under Biostar and I'm currently running the old pentium D but how to do a bios update?
