I'm new here but I have a question.
I just bought a new/used cpu an AMD ATHLON 64 X2 (ADA4200DAA5CD) Socket 939 rev6, for my ASUS A8V-VM-SE Motherboard.
I installed the cpu w/ thermal paste and inserted it correctly. Put everything back together. And when I power the computer on it seems to load normally. Both the power light and busy light turn on, all the fans run. But when it was time for the screen to load up I get no signal.
I've reset it several times and still nothing just the same thing. Loads but no screen. I would have thought that atleast a Bois menu would come up but nothing.
After getting frustrated, I was worried my computer was done for so I reinstalled my old AMD ATHLON 64 chip and then turned everything back on. And it worked and functioned normally.
Hoping someone can she'd some light on if I have a compatibility issue or if this cpu I bought was DOA.
I'm stumped please help.
