Hello everyone! my friend has given me a gtx770 he would like me to try to repair. Basically his power supply could not handle the card and for some reason even when his computer shut down he kept trying to turn the computer back on. he got a new power supply, and the card runs but does not display when hooked up.

I'm not sure if this is anything but it looks like in image 3 slot 0504 is missing.
Any help would be great!

First thing is to try the card in a different system with a good quality PSU that you know is powerful enough (600-650w). If it still crashes or causes issues then its the card for sure and an RMA might be in order. Also, depending on what system he has it could be a mobo issue. Certain OEMs (especially HP) had problems not recognizing 7xx series Nvidia cards (except for the special OEM versions they made), and the systems would not boot at all. I ran into this trying to put an EVGA GTX 770 in a HP Phoenix gaming rig that had a 650 watt Corsair PSU. The card worked perfectly in my home build, but the HP would not get past the HP splash screen. We ended up putting a EVGA GTX 680 in the HP and it booted right up and worked perfectly first time. So motherboard problems are not out of the question if it's an OEM system.

But always check the card in a different system first.
