The GPU chip is made by either AMD or NVIDIA depending on which one you are looking at. The other companies make the GPU coolers and overclock some of them. For example, the GTX 760 is sold by many companies but the chipset for all of the GPUs are the same with the various companies putting the coolers on or overclocking the chips prior to sale. NVIDIA releases the reference version of the card and the various companies make their version but they are all based off the same chip inside.

They all use the same GPUs. A Geforce 770, for example, uses the same exact 770 chip from Nvidia regardless of whether it's made by ASUS, EVGA, or whomever. The same for a given model of AMD Radeon card.
They can differentiate themselves with factory overclocks, the aesthetic look, and most importantly, the cooler used. The cooler on different manufacturer's cards is often custom designed by that manufacturer and can offer different performance and loudness.

I will put it simple.
They either sell AMD cards or nVidia cards.
Its the same thing , a 9800GT by XFX and 9800GT by MSi is the same card , but they do offer some benefits as one may give more quality cooler and better technology and the other might not , there is also a price factor.
