Hello there,

So here's the deal: I have been experiencing crashes in multiple games for about a month now. After many hours or reinstalling drivers, checking application integrity, and emailing multiple technical support services Im at a standstill.

First, some specs.

asrock z77 extreme 3 Mobo
i5-3570k
MSI HD 7950 twin frozr
windows 7
samsung 840 pro ssd
WD blue 1tb
seagate barracude 1tb

Next, some further details:

The games that have experienced crashing are company of Heroes 1, and 2. Stalker COP and Stalker CS. CIV 5 also crashes but not as frequently. The way this normally happens is I will be playing with a random crash to desktop and a generic error message.

Here are some of the notices from event viewer:

Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program Sid Meier's Civilization V because of this error.

Program: Sid Meier's Civilization V
File:

The error value is listed in the Additional Data section.
User Action
1. Open the file again. This situation might be a temporary problem that corrects itself when the program runs again.
2. If the file still cannot be accessed and
- It is on the network, your network administrator should verify that there is not a problem with the network and that the server can be contacted.
- It is on a removable disk, for example, a floppy disk or CD-ROM, verify that the disk is fully inserted into the computer.
3. Check and repair the file system by running CHKDSK. To run CHKDSK, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the command prompt, type CHKDSK /F, and then press ENTER.
4. If the problem persists, restore the file from a backup copy.
5. Determine whether other files on the same disk can be opened. If not, the disk might be damaged. If it is a hard disk, contact your administrator or computer hardware vendor for further assistance.

Additional Data
Error value: 00000000
Disk type: 0

As you can see there are multiple faulting modules. I have reinstalled my GPU drivers multiple times, trying both stable and beta drivers. I have tried CHKDSK, I ran memtest, and tested the RAM modules individually. and Honestly Im running out of ideas. Help anyone? Many thanks.

What type of RAID configuration do you have for the three drives listed? Have you done clean installs of all of your software or copy/paste them from one drive to another etc.? One big culprit of faulting modules can be .NET framework issues so you might look into that as well (make sure you are running the latest version etc.)

I wouldn't get crazy and reinstall everything just yet, but you might try doing a fresh install of one of the applications that is doing this most often to your SSD and see if it still crashes which may give you a better direction of where to troubleshoot as these issues can be pretty complicated to figure out sometimes.

Im not running RAID, its just a dynamic disk. Im going to try reinstalling steam and seeing if that helps.
