No sound form my new build?

so i just built this computer and it runs great just that i hear no sound from either my Asus VS229 monitor or the pc itslef. could anyone tell me why i cant hear anything? i did plau in the F-Audio in the motherboard btw

That monitor has no speakers if it's the same one I'm seeing on google

You need a set of speakers plugged in to get sound

r u sure because on the monitor there is volume on the OSD setup and its on 100%. also on my pc i hear the beep when it turns on but i know thats not the audio but i did plug it in

On the details page it says "Built-in Speakers -- no" but it does list an audio jack to pass through audio from HDMI.

Either way you'll need a set of PC speakers

there is no where to plug them so i just plugged them in the usb 3.0 because the usb 3.0 has 8 pins and the one i just said has 4 so i plugged it in and it works but not sure if its ok. still cant hear though

No, the speakers are a separate purchase.

There's a wide variety there from basic sets to high-end and surround speakers. For a basic stereo set, just use the green hole in the back of the motherboard

The other ports are used for mic and surround sound setups

That sound driver will process sound internally. Ordinarily a PC won't show speakers there if it doesn't detect anything plugged in but that VIA chip might not do that. Were your headphones plugged in when you took that sceenshot?
