I'm more of a console gamer. I have been playing video games since like 1984. I just recently bought a PS4. I originally wanted to buy the X1 as well but I changed my mind and decided to go with a modest gaming PC. I don't need maxed out everything just a fun experience with a little more than decent graphics. I was trying to keep this build around $1000 I'm currently around $1197. Money isn't really an issue, however I rather not spend too much more if its not "necessary".

Case - Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case

GFX Card - EVGA 04G-P4-2768-KR GeForce GTX 760 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5

Power Supply - CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W

RAM - G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)

MOBO - MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87

CPU - Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz

Fan - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

HD - (2) WD Green 2 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, SATA III, 64 MB Cache

(1) WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache

I currently own Windows 7. I was thinking of upgrading to Windows 8 and replacing the 1TB HD for my OS with a SSD but I'm not sure all of this is THAT necessary. It doesn't bother me to wait for something to load up maybe 15-20 seconds longer .

I also would like a suggestion for keyboard and mouse. I have a 48" lcd tv. Should I stick with this or buy a smaller monitor.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Solution
You can get this ASUS VG248QE 24-Inch Screen LED-lit GAMING Monitor at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B2HH7G0/?tag=ufomonitors-20 for $263-$275. I'm getting one myself, it has a refresh rate of 144Hz at 1ms, instead of the usual 60Hz, meaning you'll get the most out of your vid card and get a boost in FPS. If you go the link I gave you, make sure you scroll way down and read the awesome SPecs of the monitor, ABSOLUTE BEST I could find for that price, most gaming monitors I found were $400-$3,500. BTW Im also getting the GTX760 4GB SuperClocked vid card :), if u wanna see my complete specs look at the thread right above yours, im trying to get an opinion on the Price and parts. -KrazyChris

I already own a case from my current pc its a mid tower (APEVIA X-TELSTAR-JR G-Type X). Should I keep this and spend the money for the case on something else?

Because I've had and I know a lot of people who have had issues with anything larger than 2TB.

Awesome! Thanks a lot Chris. I hope your build goes well.
